The Viceroy is a great place to stay in Chicago. First and foremost, it’s in a very safe location. Walkable to a lot of places (hundreds of restaurants and shops). We even walked to the Chicago theater and the Chicago River Cruise tour port. The staff is friendly and the rooms are a good size for a big city hotel. We were offered an upgrade to a suite which was amazing! The views were fabulous and it was so spacious and luxurious! We liked the Viceroy so much last year that we booked it again when we returned to Chicago this year. And we will without a doubt book the Viceroy for any future travels that bring us to Chicago!

I feel like for the amount that I paid. I did not get enough. This was supposed to be a luxury hotel however it did not feel so so luxurious there were literally no amenities as far as a hot tub or pool goes only a simple gym. Decor and design after they’re supposed renovation seems outdated still to this day. The view was okay… I was up at the sixth floor, and the view wasn’t mesmerizing or anything.

Luxury price without the experience

I booked a junior suite for $500 and it was visibly dirty throughout the room - dark smudges on the walls, makeup on the light switches, visible dark areas on the chaise lounge, thick layers of dust on the wood surfaces. I was deeply disappointed by this and the staff. I was offered a $75 off discount for food and to check out late. Yet on check out day, the front desk was calling my cell phone to vacate. The cleaning woman even disturbed me in the room by knocking on the door to ask when I was leaving (check out was 12.30; I had already shared that I would leave by 2p). This was NOT a $500/night experience.

The Viceroy staff were all so helpful and pleasant to work with. We asked the front desk staff if there was a microwave when we got back from the bar at 1:30am and they hand delivered a microwave to our room. They went above and beyond. There was also a candy station
