Travel to Tucson

Down by the southern border of Arizona sits the beautiful city of Tucson. With more than 300 days of sunshine per year, Tucson is one of the best places to get a tan by the pool or experience a true desert climate. Book cheap flights to Tucson with Orbitz.com, and enjoy a wonderful sun-filled vacation.

Arriving in Tucson

Flights into Tucson land at Tucson International Airport, located 10 miles south of downtown, on South Tucson Boulevard. One of the most unique aspects about this airport is that it almost always has an art gallery set up in the lobby. The airport has 10 different dining options from which to choose and another three small shops at which you can buy snacks and souvenirs. The Aero Park Express incorporates three different bus lines to take you from the airport to wherever you want to go in the city. A day pass for the bus system will cost $3.50, and with the airport only 10 miles from Tucson's center, the trip takes less than 20 minutes. Rental cars, taxis, and shuttle services are also available to get you where you need to go.

Exploring Tucson

Tucson's surrounding region is full of amazing parks and terrain for you to explore. Two of the most scenic places to explore nearby can be found west of the city at Gates Pass and northeast at Sabino Canyon. Catalina State Park offers many different outdoor activities, including horseback riding, rock climbing, and hiking. The Pima Air and Space Museum hosts one of the world's largest collections of aircrafts, including a B-17 Flying Fortress and combat gliders from World War II. Travelers visiting Tucson should be aware of its hot weather. Tucson's temperatures average nearly 100 degrees Fahrenheit during the summer. Spring and fall are probably the best times to visit Tucson, as temperatures drop to around 75 degrees Fahrenheit, with the sun shining nearly all the time.
