Relaxing Weekend Getaway

Pawpaw’s place has become our favorite place to stay for our family getaway. We have been multiple times and it’s always a great experience. Quiet, relaxing, and so many things to do on the property. Ms. Dawn is wonderful at providing information and helping with any questions or issues. The house is well maintained, clean, and stocked with everything you need. We enjoyed spending most of our time sitting outside and fishing at the pond. It’s such a beautiful view. We love that this property allows dogs as well. Our pup enjoyed walking around the pond and sitting at the dock. We look forward to coming back in the future!

Great Place

This was the prefect place for us to stay for a fishing tournament. Just minutes away from the landing. Great house with all the amenities and wonderful sitting outdoors and taking in the scenery. Will book here again.

Paradise on a pond

They thought of everything! Comfortable and convenient, well furnished kitchen, great linens. Pond has lots of turtles, fish and even saw ducks.

Caney Tournament

We travel alot for High School tournament fishing. We felt like we were at home and didnt go without a single comfort.Not only was there a pond on property, it was close to Caney, Jimmy Davis state park, and only 15 minutes to Jonesboro. Beautiful property, friendly host, peaceful all around. 15 minutes from Jonesboro.

Family rendevous

We could not have chosen a better place for our annual family get together. We caught fish in the pond, took the kids on a boat ride, they played on the playground and in the sandbox while we all sat around the firepit, and best, there were NO MOSQUITOES biting us. There was plenty of room in the kitchen for us to congregate around the bar during cookings, and the outside grills worked flawlessly. There was plenty of parking and the site is very secluded. Overall....PERFECT !

Amazing stay

We had a two family road trip from Iowa and this beautiful cabin was our destination. Every single thing you need is already here, just bring food and clothes! The kids loved the pond and play equipment. The kitchen is fully stocked, there were bath toys for the baby, and a pack and play and monitor! Everything was perfect, I would definitely recommend this cabin to a friend and would come back if we ever venture back to Louisiana!

It was the best choice for our 38th anniversary!!! It was peaceful, shaded, and very relaxing! Everything was very organized, clean and there for our using, but we just chose to sit, fish and enjoy nature!!! We will be back!!! Thanks for being so prompt and a GREAT host!!!

Close to Caney Lake

We had a high school bass tournament at Jimmie Davis State Park. But as usual, all the cabins at JDSP were booked. This gem of a place, PawPaw’s Place, was better than imagined. We were a family of four sharing with another family of three and it worked out perfectly. It was close to the tournament and places to eat. The owner, Dawn Scott, gave us all of the information before the trip, and then again the day we were traveling. She gave things to do, places to go and eat and everything you need to have a pleasant stay. The house is completely updated. The private dock and 2.5 acre stocked pond are also very nice amenities. I hope I have time to kayak out on the pond next time I go.

Peaceful, Outdoor Getaway

This is our second time staying at PawPaw’s Place and we absolutely love it! Ms. Dawn is an incredible host. She always goes above and beyond to communicate and make sure everything is perfect for your stay. The house is clean, comfortable, and stocked with everything you need. The property and lake are amazing. We spent most of our time outside fishing and just enjoying nature. I highly recommend booking this property with Ms. Dawn. We hope to come back again in the future!

Living the dream.

This vacation rental was more than expected. The home and property was beautiful and so very peaceful and the amenities was much more than expected. Mrs. Dawn was wonderful and very easy to reach if necessary. We hope to go back soon.

What a beautiful place…Pawpaw’s place! This spot is well taken care of. You can feel the love from the inside out. The house is spacious and very well stocked. If you forgot it, Dawn has already thought about it. Being outside and enjoying the fire pit was our favorite part. Beautiful clean pond. I can’t say enough about this property. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! It was easy to find, and not too far out the way (about 20 mins) from stores & restaurants. Ms. Dawn replied quickly with questions I had & checked in to make sure we were comfortable. She has the cabin well stocked with essentials & then some!! We were so happy to be away from the hustle & bustle of everyday life. Our little dog was living her best life running the trails & chasing squirrels! If you want peace & quiet with the comforts of home, this is the place! We hope to come back next year & thanks again Ms. Dawn for opening your home to us!

Perfect location for our sons 14th birthday party!

The host was absolutely amazing throughout the entire process. As soon as we got to the property we were blown away with the beauty of it. We hosted a small party Saturday for immediate family and a few friends. Kids ranging from 3-15 yrs old (plus the grown kids) all had a blast. There was more than enough to keep them outside and playing. We did a ton of fishing and the kids even did a little swimming with provided life jackets. The hosts truly thought of everything when prepping this place, all you really need to bring is clothes and food. Its amazing and we will DEFINITELY be returning soon!

YOU WON’T BE SORRY!!

Dawn was extremely responsive to all of our questions! The house is perfect and has everything you could need! Seriously, just show up with your clothes and groceries! Dawn has thought of everything! The house is secluded in the woods so there’s tons of privacy! You are close enough to the state park to go multiple times during your stay and only 20-45mins away from anything you could think of to do or eat! Our family would definitely stay here again!

Softball Nationals

This was our 3rd year staying here. So peaceful and relaxing when we are not at the HOT ballpark! The teens love to fish and it’s so great to see them enjoy the outdoors and not be on their phones! We will always stay here when going to Ruston!
