This is a great place to stay. Right on the coast. I loved hearing the surf all night. My only complaint is that the shower was small.

For a 100 year old plus Hotel pleasantly "Surfprized" Clean neat with a few modern touches ..Daniel ( spellin') front desk was very professional /helpful..Mural in room was a nice touch ... Vanity in bathroom on the cheap side ..Vintage Shower tile was cool..the "continental breakfast" was skimpy.. mini muffin's O.J . coffee.. No fruit no cereal etc. ...wish they had ocean view rooms with two beds..Overall would stay again..:)

For our first visit on Catalina Island, this property was perfectly located in the center of town on the waterfront. We had a room with a waterfront view that was perfect to wake up to every morning. It was a relatively short and enjoyable walk from the boat landing to the hotel. You can't beat the weather on the island. We were there in November and needed a break from the rain in Portland, Or. We would definitely look at this property again for our next visit.

The check in process was smooth. They allowed early checkin based on room availability. The cleanliness is top notch. Nice ocean view. Only drawback is the bathroom had no fan.

My husband and I came for a quick 2 night stay. The hotel is up stairs so if you need accessibility, this isn't the place for you. The room was clean and quiet and the view fabulous. Located right in the heart of the boardwalk with a 10 minute walk to the ferry shuttle. Great place to stay.

The rooms are small, but they are clean and tidy, and the bed was comfortable. The common area outside area was comfortable sunny had comfy chairs and table. The people were very nice accommodating trustworthy. In general, it was a good experience and well worth the money, considering the cost of in Avalon

The only good thing about this place is its location: it is literally right across from the beach. Other than that, the best way I can describe it is "felt like the most expensive Motel 6 I've ever stayed in." Attached photo is of the "Courtyard view." Yes, that's a ladder leaning against the wall about 2' from our window. And yes, that's the entirety of the "included breakfast," which I would basically consider decorative and not worth touching.

The staff was so nice! The view at the Mac Rae front room we had was the best in all of Avalon! We love the history of the hotel and the town. It was an amazing birthday trip❤️
