Celebrated a friends birthday. Shopped at Smithville one day and went to Atlantic City the other. Close to both and safe. Dined at the restaurant and food and service was excellent. Will definitely go back with my husband so he can play golf!

Great choice for a girls' weekend!
This was an absolutely lovely place to stay, close to both Smithville and Atlantic City. Our bathroom could probably have used a bit of a face lift but overall it was a comfortable, convenient, clean hotel on a gorgeous property.

I removed one star due to arrival at 4:00 to check in and having to wait 40 minutes for our room to be ready. We were tired from travel and h planned to rest up before our reservation nearby. We didn’t get to do that.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The grounds are nicely kept. The room was clean and comfortable, but our air conditioning did not seem to work. Someone came up to the room promptly to look at it and had it working better, but it was then making a clanking noise all night and never reached near the temperature it was set to. The pools needed some cleaning and the elevators seem to be on their last thread. We were there to play golf, which was great, and just check out the resort after hearing positive things about it. Overall an underwhelming but comfortable stay, convenient if you’re golfing there, but in need of some updating.

We have stayed here every summer for the past 20 years. It’s changed hands in ownership but the hotel and property being 110 years old is still beautiful. Even though renovated it’s still has some of its old world charm. And the staff was pleasant.
