What a gem!
Silver Gull is a hidden gem on the North Carolina shore! I had an amazing view from my room (next time I would ask for a south facing room) and I could walk down my hall and out into the beach! The hotel has its own little deck on the beach, but it was a bit too chilly for hanging out there on this trip. I walked across a parking lot for a decent meal, but could have walked a little further for more options. Or, I could have used my kitchenette to make something for myself! I loved catching a spectacular sunrise in the morning before I left.

Home away from hine
Always love our stay at Silver Gull. Could use a little more attention to things like plumbing fixtures loose, better towels, changing out damaged shower curtain. However for the price and location it is tough to beat.

The room rate was very reasonable. I chalked that up to off season since I read decent reviews. Unfortunately I waited too long and the hotel I was at for an event was completely booked. I googled closest places. They were serious about do not smoke in your room or balcony (which I appreciated) but I could not get the stench of old nicotine out of my sense of smell. The room was very old with some superficial updates. My opinion is the location is the only reason they continue to stay in business. My OCD would not allow me to sleep here. I stayed in the room about 45 mins and left.

My ratings are based on the off-season value. The price was excellent for my January stay. Spacious and clean; 5-star bed. I intend to book the Silver Gull again.
