The staff didn't seem very hospitable. The rooms were very small, the carpet felt dirty, and the showers were terribly small. The cookies were great and the holiday decorations were a nice touch.
Our room was the smallest we have ever stayed in during our travels. The bathroom was very tight. The breakfast was so-so, all carbs, no protein. The hotel is in the middle of town, close to restaurants.
Pleasantly surprised. I would stay here again.
Delightful historic building with a delicious housemade breakfast in the morning.
It was clean and staff very nice
In this day and age having a microwave and mini fridge in the room is almost a given. This room, however, did not have those features. The staff were really friendly and let us use the microwave whenever needed but it was downstairs in the kitchen. Their motto is to make ourselves feel at home. Well, we did and it was mainly due to using the microwave and looking in the kitchen for other things needed. It was fine. The only other area we would have utilized is a workout facility. We were told that in an upcoming remodel there is one being considered. I think just a small space with the ability to do your own workouts would be fine.
Loved how friendly the staff was
Right in the heart of Kalispell with good coffee, shops, and restaurants to walk to! The quiche and coffee was excellent at the Grand. Loved it! We will stay again.
This place is more like a B&B than a hotel. Very homey, amazing homemade breakfast that is far superior to most hotels plus popcorn and home-based cookies in the evening. It is easy to walk out for meals, and there are two good restaurants that can even be accessed without going out of doors when weather is bad. We stayed here for work last week and liked it so much that we will be going back next week!
We got in very late after a long week of backpacking in Glacier National Park. The staff were courteous and welcomed us with fresh-baked cookies and late-night food recommendations. The hotel has been beautifully restored and evokes the elegance of the Old West without being the least bit tacky. We woke up to find ourselves in the bustling downtown shopping district, within walking distance of great restaurants. A great place for families or couples to stay one night, or several!

Julieta, thank you for the rating and review. Hotel rooms in the early 1900's were not very roomy. Something to keep in mind when booking a historic hotel. Also, since the bathrooms were added to the rooms in 1990, that took up some of the room space. All the rooms and bathrooms differ a little from one and another, so we do have rooms with a bit larger shower. There are also rooms that offer a little more floor space, you can book one of those rooms directly with the hotel, we don't have but a handful of those rooms. We encourage our guests to ask about such things when they are here. We will then try to get you what you are after, if we can. We hope you will consider staying with us at another time.
Thank you Katherine, for the great rating! Please come visit us again, we would love to see you!
Thank you for your positive rating! Hope to have you back someday!

We agree, having modern amenities is nice, and we have those things available for use. We have tried in the past to have coffee makers, microwaves and mini fridges in the rooms. Honestly, it takes away from the fact this is a historical hotel opened in 1912 and those little conveniences take up a lot of space in a little room. We feel this also gives our guests the opportunity to ask our staff questions and to get to know the area a little better. There's a wealth of knowledge at the front desk. We might not have a workout "area" per say, but there is a whole lot of area around us that can be used to change up your workout and see amazing beauty while working up a sweat. ; ) Thank you for staying with us and we hope to see you again!
Loved how friendly the staff was
Thank you for taking the time to give us such a great rating. We hope you will stay with us when you are able to visit the area again.
We cannot apologise enough, if you did not receive the warm welcome we are known for. There has been a lot of work being done while you were here. The huge Holiday Art Stroll was Friday night, the day you departed, and decorating couldn't be done until Thursday because of the work on the tin ceiling. The staff may have been a little preoccupied but that is no excuse for your experience. We would love to have you back at some point. Someone may contact you with a few questions.
