Plus: Very close to Songshan airport; 10 minute walk; excellent concierge service; great cocktails at MO Bar Minus: Cafe Un Deux Trois resembled Grand Central with crowds and seating that was too close together; Food had a wide selection but nothing like the award winning restaurants in the other Mandarin properties Cramped and small lobby; Rooms need updating; Sagging beds; Have to take a taxi everywhere Summary: Less Mandarin Oriental and more Buddha in Poverty. Give this one a miss until they update the property
Very excited, my daughter like of swimming pool, all of the room facilities
This is our second time staying at this wonderful property, and it spoils us for any other hotel. The staff is outstanding and the service flawless. For example, the concierge recommended a local restaurant and then walked us part of the way there to make sure we found it. The rooms are very big, especially for Asia, but there spaciousness is enhanced by a clever design that maximizes the sense of space. The closest and bathroom are designed in such a way that they flow within the room when you want space and airiness, but then shut off for privacy when that is required. Probably the best designed hotel rooms we have ever seen. Can’t wait to return to Taipei and revisit this hotel. We are blessed to stay in wonderful hotels around the world, but the execution on every detail at the Mandarin Oriental Taipei sets it apart from almost any other place we have stayed.
