The grounds were absolutely beautiful! It felt like staying in a resort with gardens and trees around the property. Lovely heated outdoor pool with great hours (8am-10pm) and 2 jacuzzies. The room was lovely and had everything we needed but I did notice a few things that could have been cleaned better (floor had debris), and there was a slight smell..I notice those things being a house cleaner myself. Otherwise the room was very well kept and well stocked. We had to ask for extra towels for the pool, but that wasn't a big deal as the front desk is close to the pool area. Plenty of guest parking and never had an issue finding a spot. They give you a tag to put on your dash that needs to be kept there during your stay. Lots of channels and ways to watch TV, if need be. We preferred relaxing at the hot tub, after our long days in the Zoo and Sea World. Location is great! Old Town, which we went to a lot, San Diego Zoo and Sea World were all within a 10 minute drive, plus the popular mall in San Diego. The staff were so accommodating and friendly! They noticed how tall we were and said that the Queen room we booked might be too small so they upgraded us free of charge to make our stay more comfortable. That was definitely a nice bonus :) One night I was woken up by a homeless man screaming and yelling profanities, and some noisy hotel guests, which is why I gave 4 stars for area around property. It was a great stay overall and I would definitely stay here again.
