We requested river view and was very pleased; beautiful room, very clean, never-smoked-in, very nice hot breakfast, friendly staff all around. Only one hiccup: only one dryer was working, but I'm confident they'll have all four dryers fixed by the time you read this review.

Great location for U of Rochester Visit. All went well.

Very convenient location, walking distance to U of R.

The hotel was a very nice hotel with a great selection for breakfast options. Just somewhat disappointed that the service was limited (no housecleaning available which means we had to empty are own garbage cans and we stayed for 5 days (however, this was related to short staffing during covid). Loved the river view we had from our windows and loved the set up of the suite we had. Staff was very friendly and accommodating for the most part when it was needed. I would stay here again. Very close to places we were visiting during our stay.

First room too close to eating.social area and too loud. Canned "music" started blasting at 4 or 5 AM, heard it clearly, didn't want to - preferred to sleep. Second, heard dishes banging together and such in prep for breakfast service. Can't complain - it has to be done - but w were too close. Also, phone on desk didn't work. Furniture beat up. Heater/AC unit would come on randomly while control was in off position. Haunted? Asked to move rooms, was given a room on second floor next to elevator. Was marginally better, but phone next to bed didn't work. Furniture less beat up, but heater/AC also haunted and would start randomly for a few seconds then turn off again. No outlets in shower/toilet cubicle. Would have been helpful for purpose of plugging in small nightlight as the overhead light is just too bright for mid-night wakeups for bodily functions. This hotel is listed in a Rochester hype article or publication as a high-end of mid-high-end hotel. I mildly disagree. While the price may indeed be so, the small things make it much more like any other place anywhere else, with details that should be attended to but won't be because the greed of corporate overseers will make sure the CEO's compensation is the most important thing to anyone, anywhere. People behind desk were very nice. The breakfast and occasional dinner food is nice to have - as is the free beer - but with all the great eatery options in Rochester (Han Noodle House!!)...

The things I liked about the property were the cleanliness, the lively Christmas decorations, the inviting fireplace, the nice warm hot tub and the beautiful view of the Genesee River.

It was a three star as it is. The stuff was friendly

All staff were great but Austin was exceptional Location on Genesee River made for beautiful mornings to sit on patio and enjoy their complimentary breakfast buffet Room was very clean and well laid out. Only complaint would be one elevator for everyone, including housekeeping, which ran very slow. Would highly recommend this hotel

Our stay at Staybridge Rochester University could not have been better. The room was beautiful, clean, and spacious, the staff were extremely kind and professional, and the location was beautiful. Parking was convenient and free in the lot connected to the hotel. The foot bridge along the river to Rochester University was gorgeous, and allowed for a lovely walk around campus. The pool and hot tub were clean and roomy. The outdoor amenities were beautiful (patio with grill and a lovely seating area with a gas fire pit). Skylar, the Manager, obviously cares about his guests, and went out of his way on multiple occasions to make us feel at home. Suzanne who prepared breakfast in the morning was incredibly kind. She answered our questions about gluten free breakfast options with care, and even put together an ice pack for my daughter's lunch box on the fly (she was attending a camp at the University). We will definitely stay here again the next time that we visit Rochester. What a wonderful place!

The property was great for my meeting at the U of R. A quick walk across the footbridge put me right on campus. The staff was nice at the facility, my suite was clean w/ a great view of the River Campus. My one issue was the fact that on my floor there were frequent ethnic food odors that were pervasive down the entire corridor from my room to the elevator. The smell of strong spices, I'm guessing curries was overpowering and reminded me of going to an older relative's apartment building that had long term tenants living there....it had that baked in ethnic food smell. When someone's cooking violate's everyone's air space, that is inconsiderate of other people sharing the same space.

Nice and comfortable room more room then I had expected

Clean, right by UR, great room and breakfast and staff.

It is a good experience staying in the hotel. I have stayed there for 6 days and the staybridge suites gave me a comfortable feeling. The front desk, house keeper are good and the breakfast is delicious. The room has a good view of the Genesee river. The free dinner on Monday -Wednesday was also delicious. The hotel is so close to University of Rochester, which is across the Genesee river. Visiting UR is very convenient! Hope to stay in the hotel if I will come Rochester again and recommend people to choose the hotel when visiting UR.

Staff was quite helpful with a couple situations; cheerful as well. The place itself is wonderfully situated on the Genesee River, across the river from the U of Rochester, accessible via a walking bridge that takes you on a great walking path.

Nice experience on my first visit to Rochester NY. The breakfast and dinner was delicious.

Wouldn't clean room or make beds because our own blanket was on them. We were told they will not and do not touch personal belongings. I asked where it says that at the hotel and the manager said there are no signs but all hotel customers know this. As it is a universal policy among ALL HOTELS. We told him this was the first hotel to say and do this amd he said the other places were wrong for cleaning our rooms then. Bathroom light blew and they had no maintenance staff on nights on the weekends. So they gave us a table lamp to use for showering and using the bathroom. Not very safe idea. Manager Laroy just made excuses. When asked about a refund we were told they could only refund to expedia(?) and we would have to try to get the money back from them. And they probably wouldn't do that. Wont stay at a Staybridge again.

I flew in to Rochester at midnight and was able to get to the hotel and get to my room quickly. The staff was very friendly.

Had variety for food and drinks. Room was spacious and nice. Staff was very friendly

Air unit to loud. People above me heard all night walking around till 3:00
