My 15 year old has declared this the best place we have stayed on our 2 week trip to France. Quaint with lots of charm, nice amenities (I was happy to finally have a place that provided wash clothes along with the towels!) yummy breakfast items, in a great location.

Our mother-daughter trip to Nice this past summer was such a success, thanks in large part to this charming hotel being our home away from home during our stay! Our room was spacious, bright, and clean — even equipped with a kitchenette. As other reviewers have already mentioned, Gilles and Cosette are such wonderful and welcoming hosts. Any time we needed recommendations, directions, extra amenities, or just wanted to chat, Gilles and Cosette were always very warm and knowledgeable. We also really appreciated the delicious complimentary breakfast each morning. A huge plus as well is the location — a quick 10-15 minute walk could get you to the Nice-Ville train station, Place Massena, Promenade des Anglais, and the stunning beach. It was also so convenient to have the Alsace-Lorraine tram station just across the street from the hotel, which we used to go to and from the airport. This also is a safe area, so coming back to our room later at night was not an issue. Merci beaucoup for the fantastic experience! Looking forward to visiting again soon.

The Hotel Victor Hugo is the perfect property for a stay in Nice. The owner is attentive to guest needs and the stately building is on a tree-lined Blvd across from a tram station. An easy 20 minute tram ride from the airport or a 10 minute walk from the train station.

Gill and Cosette are great hosts for this small, quaint hotel! Location is very convenient with easy walking to beach, shopping and metro. Only reason not a 5 was size of bathroom in Esmeralda room -which was small even by European standards.
