The hotel is BEAUTIFUL and the staff very friendly. Where I always seem to have issues with is the customer service. Stayed here before and there always seems to be a disconnect between corporate and the staff. Was utter confusion when I checked in about the length of my stay that Reservations told me was ALREADY sorted out (hint: it wasn't) A hefty security hold on my card for a room that provides NO mini bar options? Also when I went to breakfast buffet was told only 1 was paid for and had to go back up to my room to SHOW the restaurant my reservation clearly says breakfast for 2. No maple syrup options with pancakes and waffles?? Really? Ordered a SALAD at the pool that took over 30 minutes to come out. I just don't get it. Everyone there is super friendly but the staff always seems to just be doing the minimum requirement needed to keep their jobs. I always just get the feeling of confusion from the staff. Now if I'm booking a 3 star hotel I expect this service but shouldn't with a 5 star property like the Shangri la. That said? I will be booking with them again...
