Good potential, but need some work
My wife and I chose the grand for a little getaway. The booking process was seamless and no issues upon check-in. The front desk worker was extremely helpful and made sure we had what we needed. The biggest issues we had were in the room. We were not able to cool the temperature down at night even with the AC kicked down, the window shades were difficult to keep shut, and we had some dirty towels with Unknown and Groce , substances on them. This hotel is in the perfect place with so many wonderful downtown McKinney things, but there seem to be a few persistent issues with the rooms, probably because of the nature of the age of the facility. We found online afterwards, others that it had the same AC issue that we had had. Not sure if we will return but overall we still enjoyed our night.

The property is exactly as described. It’s quaint and has an old world charm. Staff is friendly, only bad thing is there are no chairs, desks, fridge or microwave. Not for business travel. It’s roomy enough for those extra conveniences. Also you can hear the noise from the hallway.

Beautiful but loud
Beautiful hotel. Loved walking the halls looking at the artwork and books and architecture. Front desk clerk was friendly and helpful. Comfy bed but the pillows were too soft for me. Gave me a headache. We could hear loud music playing until after midnight. The thermostat didn’t regulate the temperature well. Had it on 85 and it was freezing in the room. Only one small bar of soap. Splashes of make up on the bathroom wall. Very nice hotel but we wouldn’t stay there again.
