Checked in at 4:00 PM, prepaid Orbitz with no problems. Took my credit card info, gave us room cards with room number on folder. Clerk did not ask for ID.
Had nice dinner in on site restaurant.
Early to bed since had to be up at 3:00 AM for flight.
At 12:45 PM, phone rang twice, no one there. Three minutes later knocking on door. Night desk clerk, "you are not registered here, I have to see your ID." Not how you want to be awakened in the middle of the night.
Photographed driver's license. No apology, acted like we were squatters.
At 3:30, went to check out and get an apology. Showed night clerk keys, key folder with room number, Orbitz confirmation page. Asked for printout of stay. Got nothing. Complained since it was obviously hotel's fault. Got one word. "apologies". no explanation, no real remorse. Still acted like we were in the wrong,
There are plenty of other airport hotels near O'Hare. Will not be staying at this one again.
