My second time at this property. It was wonderful! I had peace, quiet, and great service as I booked Elite Club. I will go back.

The front desk manger was very rude. Not helpful when our bag was taken by the pool, even went as far to blame it on us. She had no empathy at all. Food was less than great. We have had an upset stomach very 5 days now. We will not return.

Beautiful grounds- transportation via Destination not good!
This Riu was outstandingly clean and the staff were always available for our needs. The housekeepers were amazing!! Our Junior suite was fabulous with full ocean view. We felt safe and comfortable throughout the resort. The layout of the restaurants and activities was so convenient and easy to navigate. The daily activity/entertainment poolside was fun!! The evening shows were okay. Michael Jackson Show was very good. The dinner reservation system with beepers woked well..longest we waited was 45 minutes. The buffet was plentiful for our breakfast and lunches. Pepe's poolside grill was great for snacks or lunch, but they could have a daily special. It was the same everyday. Bar service was excellent. Some drinks were watered down. My favorite was the lounge bar with ocean views, even pretty at night! This was a really great all inclusive resort!
We stayed at the new Riu 1/15-19. The property was absolutely beautiful and small, which is what we prefer. The lobby bar and nightly drink cart was a fun place to sit and people watch. The food in all of the a la carte restaurants was delicious, especially the Asian restaurant! You can't make reservations but we'd put our name in, go get a drink, and go back an hour later or so. The buffet had a nice breakfast and lunch but we typically ate lunch at Pepe's by the pool. The drinks were really good and the staff and bartenders were extremely accommodating and happy to provide wonderful service. We had a partial ocean-view room (910) which was so pretty and perfectly comfortable. My only complaint is the pool to the far left was too warm to use comfortably, so we spent most of our time at the Activities pool which was fun, but loud - or the bar pool which was also very warm, and loud (obviously). We did not do Elite, so we could not utilize the Elite pool, but it looked pretty empty. Getting a seat at the pool wasn't a problem but we are picky, so we'd go reserve a seat around 8:30 am before going to get breakfast. Also, we did not partake in the Riu Caribe parties via the shuttle, we were mostly there to relax and that's not our scene, but it seemed easy to get there and back!
