Summer holiday in Barbizon
Great apartment that is much bigger than the listing/photos suggest. It is really well located in the middle of the village close to the restaurants and just a few minutes walk to the forest with bouldering sites very close. Barbizon is close to Fontainebleau, other forest villages and easy access to Paris by train. The owners Marie-Ange and Jacques are very helpful and it was a pleasure to meet them. Highly recommended place to stay - thank you

Spacious and well-equipped gîte
This rental was perfect for our monthlong stay in Barbizon. Right in the middle of main street through town, close to the market, bakery, cheese shop, butcher, cafes, restaurants, bakery-- basically, everywhere you'd need to go. The forest is at the end of the street-- perfect location for climbers -- and there's even a vegetarian cafe a few doors down that rents crash pads! The apartment is even more spacious and charming than it looks in the pictures. It's easy to get to Fontainebleau by bus, though reserving a taxi to get to Paris can be tricky. Fortunately for us, Mme. and M. Chabert were very helpful hosts, not only finding us an Uber driver but even calling him for us to make sure there was no miscommunication! We'd definitely rent with them next time we come to climb!

Charmingly located
Rustic accommodation above a shop on the main street in Barbizon. Charmingly quirky and well equipped with both sheets and towels (which is not always the case with holiday rentals in France). The village of Barbizon is lovely and has all the shops you could need, including an excellent pâtisserie. It also has many galleries and a good choice of restaurants. Well located for Paris and Fontainebleau. The owners are extremely obliging and appear to be well-liked members of the local community. I would definitely recommend staying here for a truly French experience.

Super stay in picturesque setting
Lovely atmospheric old apartment in the centre of quaint Barbizon- a perfect French village with lots of history. Perfect location right on the main street a few minutes walk to everything, including the beautiful forest. Hosts were very welcoming and helpful, despite our lack of French. The flat had everything we needed for a short stay. The only minor thing missing was there was no place to sit outdoors which would have been nice on warm evenings, but the hosts did offer to bring a table across the courtyard for us. Recommend the Base de Loisirs at Buthiers, especially if travelling with children- great swimming, picnic facilities and a fun rope tree parcours of different levels.
